FAQs

As a school, how do I use your site?

Schoolworkshops.com is the UK's leading workshop directory. You can search by workshop, area and event to identify the most suitable provider for your school.

Fill out the form with your requirements and we will do the rest!

If you have chosen a specific provider and they are unable to fulfil your requirements, we will always try to identify an alternative provider.

How do I contact several providers with my query?

You can search by type and area to see which workshops might suit.

To send your enquiry to your chosen provider, please complete the contact form on the specific workshop page. You need to complete a form per provider.

If they can meet your requirements they will be in touch. If they can’t help this time, the enquiry is sent to other providers in the same category in case they can assist you.

Will my workshop be delivered by schoolworkshops.com?

No.

Schoolworkshops.com is a directory of workshop providers/third party suppliers advertising their services to schools or other organisations.

If you choose to book a workshop with a workshop provider/supplier as listed on schoolworkshops.com, the contract is between the school/organisation and the workshop provider. Schoolworkshops.com accepts no liability for the suitability of any workshop providers or third party suppliers advertising on this website.

As a school or organisation it is your responsibility to verify the credentials of a provider you may be interested in engaging. We suggest you obtain proof of ID, DBS for all staff, insurance, references, full cost breakdown and workshop plans.

As a provider, why should I advertise on schoolworkshops.com?

Schoolworkshops.com is the UK's leading workshop directory. In the last year we had over 45,000 unique visitors searching for workshops to take place in their school.

We send regular newsletters to schools and other interested parties on a regular basis. It's always best to have several good quality photos on your listings.

Why is it free to place an advert?

Unlike other websites, schoolworkshops.com doesn't charge to place your first advert. We firmly believe you should only pay (via PayPal) when you receive a booking which is why we charge per enquiry received.

Your advert will be made live once it has been verified by a member of the schoolworkshops.com team. You must also provide a link from your website to schoolworkshops.com to be eligible for the free advert. See link to us.

What details should I include in my advert?

Make sure you include as much information about your workshop as possible. Photos are essential, and help us to promote your listings. Testimonials from schools can be very powerful too.

You are not allowed to include contact details or web links - these will be removed by our team. Schools will be able to contact you via the standard enquiry form.

There is a separate section for ages and locations so do not duplicate this information in your advert.

Metadata text needs to be kept under 150 characters. Photos should be landscape 800x600 pixels jpg.

New and edited listings will be approved by our team before going live.

NB - Your details (name and street address) must match exactly to that held on your PayPal account.

Can I appear in more than one category?

Yes. You are allowed to appear in as many categories as you want. Each additional category is priced at £10 and all wording must differ from any other category you appear in. You cannot place two adverts in the same category.

Can I change my advert once it is posted?

You are able to change your advert as many times as you like within your user area. All changes need to be verified by a member of the schoolworkshops.com team and may not be live again for 48 hours. Click Post to send for verification.

I would like to set up a new category. How do I do this?

If there is not a suitable category for you to appear in, please contact a member of the schoolworkshops.com team to discuss.

How many enquiries am I likely to receive?

Much of this depends on the demand for your service and the quality of your advert.

The site receives 4,000 page views a month at the moment.

Photos and testimonials are very useful. Take a look at what other providers are offering to get an idea of the format of a successful workshop before planning your own.

A member of the schoolworkshops.com team can always assist with your postings.

How can I boost enquiries for my listings?

To help your listings attract more views, you can post them in different categories, as many cover multiple topics. Each additional category is priced at £10. The title, wording and photos should differ.

A new feature of this website are the special events, e.g. Book Month, Diwali, Christmas. Email info@schoolworkshops.com detailing which you’d like your listing associated with, up to two per listing.

There are two sponsorship packages. You can be a premium provider whereby all your listings appear at the top of their category page (randomised with other premium listings). You can also advertise in the top right scrolling banner, which appears on every page. Email the team to discuss these further.
