Bollywood dance originated from Indian films and is a combination of the terms 'Hollywood' and the former name for Mumbai, 'Bombay'. The highlight of many Bollywood movies are colourful and vibrant dance sequences and upbeat musical scores that go with them. Taking dance moves from some of the most spectacular Indian cinema, it is a fusion of western choreography and Indian tradition.

Our Kathak Dance Workshop is a celebration of classical Indian dance. Treasured for its intricacy, elegance and charm, it originated in the Hindu temples of northern India and later became popular in the royal courts. One of the oldest forms of theatrical dance in the world, Kathak, which literally translates as 'story' involves the use of storytelling Mudras hand gestures.

Our Kathak dance is graceful. It is particularly good for junior classes and has also be adapted for younger years. Our professional dancers get the whole class moving to the beat.
