About:

“Inspiration Through Discovery”

Wild Science is the UK’s No.1 provider of quality hands-on Animal Education Workshops.

We have the most knowledgeable Experts and the widest range of animals to suit your specific needs.  Every session is a fun, educational and tactile experience.

We cover every age from nursery and early years through to KS1 to KS4.  Our Expert will come in with a selection of animals to suit your chosen topic and everyone (in a class less than 30) will have the opportunity hold and interact with every animal that is presented.

Nocturnal animals are more active at night, Diurnal animals are more active during the day and Crepuscular animals are most active at dusk and dawn.

Nocturnal animals sleep during the day, usually in a burrow or den. Nocturnal animals are mostly present in hotter climates to escape the heat although it can be to evade predators.

Nocturnal animals are often well equipped to survive in the dark. Many Nocturnal animals have large eyes to make the most of the light available while others rely on different senses such as sound, smell or touch.

In this workshop we discuss and display a wide variety of Nocturnal animals whilst giving the students the chance to touch, hold and interact with them.

Core Focus

  •  What is Nocturnal, Diurnal & Crepuscular?
  •  What sort of animals are Nocturnal, Diurnal & Crepuscular?
  •  How & Why?

We don’t need a huge amount of space, just enough room for the children in a horseshoe formation for the Expert to walk over to everyone individually so a classroom is typically fine.

The session lengths are up to you; an hour is an ideal session length; however, 6 x 45 minute sessions fit nicely into a school day.  Our recommendation is a minimum of a 45 minute session with no more than 30 children in attendance.

We typically use a broad mix of mammals, Reptiles/Amphibians and Invertebrates to discuss any topic (unless requested otherwise).  We take animal welfare extremely seriously so no particular animal can be guaranteed on the day; however, we do take requests should you have any.
