TheWholeStory improves and inspires writing, speaking and listening with Storytelling performance, literacy activities and INSET.
Storytelling Performance and Activities:
We offer enthralling and interactive storytelling performances, which can be followed with practical and fun literacy workshops. Engaging imaginations and illustrating the magic that is found within stories, to inspire children’s own creativity and expression.
Our colourful and energetic storytelling performances, of traditional animal stories and trickster tales from many cultures around the world, are entertaining, engrossing and thought provoking.
"All the staff were captivated (the ones who missed it were furious) and the children have been very positive. The fact that you could have heard a pin drop in a group of 90 Y6 pupils speaks for itself!"
Elisabeth Broers, Holy Trinity School Wallington.
TheWholeStory’s storytelling and activities can:
• Excite reluctant students with reading and writing.
• Challenge and inspire gifted students to achieve more.
• Model descriptive language and narrative structure.
• Develop appreciation of language.
• Ignite imaginations.
• Spark ideas for creative writing.
• Compliment topics and themes.
• Bring fun to literacy and language
INSET and Workshops for Teachers:
We have developed a set of practical approaches to enhance the skills of both confident and novice classroom storytellers.
The techniques and methods taught in our training allow teachers to facilitate creative activities to motivate writing and expression in children of all ages and to engage them in a variety of topics through stories.
Our courses are practical allowing participants, in a supportive environment, to try out our activities and reflect and explore the best ways to develop and apply them in the classroom.
We have experience of delivering workshops and training relevant to staff working with Early Years to Key Stage 4 and can design courses to meet your school or group’s specific needs.
"A truly inspirational INSET day! We are so excited about trying out some of your ideas and working hard to bring our schools to life with your help!"
Marie Corbett Headteacher Invicta Primary, on behalf of Parish Infants and Darrick Wood Junior Schools, Lewisham.
• Tell memorable stories engagingly and confidently without a book.

• Motivate the listening, speaking and writing of children and students.
• Improve and unlock creative, communication and language skills.
• Build on interactive skills towards creating stories with children.
• Reanimate story-time and nursery rhymes.
