It’s on rare occasions that students have the opportunity to work with genuine stained glass and when they do, they are fascinated by it. The glass is imported and some of it is from renovated panels dating back to Victorian times which creates a lot of discussion and that is before any cutting or leading has started!
Stained glass artist Anna Conti has been taking on traditional and modern commissions since 1986 and has a wealth of experience to offer .
Students can be closely involved in the creation of a stained glass window or wall hanging for the school or make their own individual abstract panel. This can also extend to copperfoil work for small groups to make lightcatchers.
Mosaic mini windows and mirrors are very popular using off cuts of glass and can accomodate up to 120 students in one day.
Anna also offers talks on her work and on running a craft based business for older students.
