The Fractal Dome is a workshop and dome experience specially designed for schools, to support learning and development in maths, science and art. The Fractal Dome programme takes place in a mobile dome with a 360 degree screen and also includes a workshop enabling pupils and students to interact with fractals, before the dome show. The dome comes to your school and can be set up in a hall or large drama studio. Fractals is the spectacular, award-winning fulldome planetarium show that takes viewers on a tour of the fractals in nature and zooms through infinitely complex mathematical fractals. Featuring original music, the show is both educational and highly entertaining, and suitable for audiences Year3 and up. The Fractal Dome is part of the service provided to schools by Science Dome, an existing mobile dome provider of science and learning experience to schools and colleges. Audiences of all ages enjoy the visual adventure of journeying into the infinitely complex world of fractals – endlessly repeating patterns made from simple algebraic equations. Consisting of seven individual fulldome animations created by Dr. Jonathan Wolfe, Fractal Programme offers educators a powerful new tool for teaching maths and related sciences in the dome. A full day visit costs in the range of £395 (excluding VAT) with a typical day including up to five class shows. In the London area the charge is £450 per day (excluding VAT). Please be aware that we charge a travel and hotel supplement north of the M4. From 1st March 2011 we are charging a Fuel Supplement of £20 plus VAT on any new bookings of the Fractal Dome. The section of the show with the dome can be expanded without the workshop or the workshop can be kept to a minimum. Many schools are opting for a tester session ‘Dome Only’ show, as an alternative. Fractal Triangles are a popular workshop creating a giant framework throughout the school day.
