Tradansa Workshops inspires school children, teens and their teachers to learn about cultural diversity and similarities through fun, dance and movement.
- The choreographies and pedagogical content of the workshops are customized according to the developmental needs of the age groups and the curriculum.
- The programs integrate different cultural facets, including language, music, history, geography, etc., and at the same time as offer fun and stimulating physical activity.
- Students of all ages are encouraged to creatively express themselves and discover new forms of expression.
- The workshops are offered in French and/or English to accommodate the specific needs of your school.
- Foundational life skills of cooperation, respect and teamwork are cultivated.
- Highly qualified and passionate dance specialists teach all dance programs.
These workshops are successful because they offer students, young and old, a stimulating and enjoyable instructional format. At the same time, these inspiring programs fulfill school curriculum requirements for physical activity, language development and multicultural education.
Tradansa participants tell us “All the dances are fun and interactive. The instructors explain the steps clearly and with gestures. Tradansa makes it easy for the kids to learn the steps in just a few days. Wow! Well done!”
Parents also tell us that they notice after the workshops a boost in their children’s self-esteem along with a new awareness and respect for cultural diversity. The workshops put a happy jump in their step!
At the Tradansa workshops, everyone has great time learning while curriculum requirements are met!
With a minimum of three dance workshops, the children are focused, everyone enjoys themselves and performs a showcase for their parents and the school community. Even with the minimal amount of practice, the students get it with flying colors every time!
Expected results:
- Students learn three to five dances in three workshop sessions, 40-50 minutes duration!
- An engaging final performance can be organized for the school community after the three workshop sessions!
- Engaging stories are told to provide a context for the students. Teachers find this intriguing and are often able to relate these stories to other curriculum requirements.
- Students become powerfully engaged in fun, physical activity and also learn about cooperation, respect and teamwork.
- A greater understanding of how, when and why people from different cultures express themselves through movement and dance.
- Students learn to appreciate and honor cultural differences and similarities.
