Imagine making maths fun using soap bubbles, balloons and a clown. Picture your children visualising complex 3D shapes, followed by estimating the width of your hall, then “guessing” how many people would fit inside a cubic metre. Imagine their glee when they get to climb INSIDE that cubic metre to improve, then test their estimate. Let’s suppose you then have an INSET session which will make your life easier by giving you many more ideas, including lesson plans from Cambridge University experts, to enjoy with your children. There you are, with focused, enthusiastic children, exploring maths using bendy straws, old newspapers and bits of string. Each and every child enjoying the activity at their own level of achievement. Our MLS (Mathematical Learning Systems) program, based on mathematical thinking, uses hands-on workshops and assemblies and has been developed over the last 5 years with over 100,000 teachers and learners.
